I think the real story is how looking back at how fast Blizzard fixed this virus.

They had an update ready in 3 days.

One issue that nobody else seem to bring up is what about the loss of virtual assets to the players that were affected. When you look at the time and energy required, then bam you loss all your hard work.

I think maybe someone should came out with an insurance policy for players accounts.

If you somehow created a virus or event which could destroy virtual property in a game world in a manner not in keeping with the game rules, I wonder if you’d be responsible for the real costs incurred in the real world (virtual terrorism!) I can see the news reports now, “… at 100000 credits to the dollar, the five thousand canadian dollar virtual houses were lost under suspicious circumstances… police are searching for a man known as l33thaxx0r”
