Coastal Squeeze Project

This project led by Gail Chmura will provide data on the proximity of constructed barriers to salt marsh migration inland which can then be used to prioritize salt marsh restoration projects executed by community groups funded by the Council's Habitat Restoration Program.

Communicating Climate Change Science

The goal is to use Web 2.0 to educate the public in the mechanics and aims of climate change models. A university course, entitled ‘Communicating Climate Change Science’ has been designed and will be offered in Winter 2009.

Community-Based Validation of Volunteered Observations of Invasive Species

This project led by Dr. Klinkenberg will develop a new system for public reporting of invasive alien species, which will interface with the BC Ministry of Forest and Range Invasive Alien Plant Program’s existing ‘report a weed’ system.
